Renewable Energy Promoting Organization, Inc. recognizes the importance of customers’ personal information, and by complying with laws and other regulations regarding personal information protection, we ensure that personal information is properly and safely handled. We will use personal information to the extent necessary to carry out fulfillment of contracts, debt collection and fulfillment of debts, formation and preservation of assets and equipment, development and improvement of products and services,  information via direct mail regarding products and services(including guidance from our company when collaborating with partner companies)  and other related tasks.

2.2. Purpose of use of personal information of business partners

The personal information of our business partners is used for purposes such as purchasing goods, outsourcing, payment, and notification of related information in our electricity business and related businesses. In addition, the information will be used to collect and provide various information regarding our business activities to our business partners.

2.3. Purpose of use of specific personal information

We will use the specific personal information received for personal number-related affairs as stipulated by the Number Act.

Furthermore, even if we have the consent of the individual, we will not use specific personal information for other purposes.

3.2.2. How to confirm that you are the person in question or your agent

When we receive a request for disclosure of retained personal data handled by our company, we request the documents to prove the identity (driver’s license, health insurance card, passport, resident card, seal certificate, personal number card, etc.). We will confirm this upon receipt of a copy of the document. In the case of a representative, in addition to the documents listed above, we will confirm by checking an extract of the family register, other documents certifying the legal representative’s qualifications, a power of attorney, and a seal certificate for the seal affixed to the power of attorney.

4. Measures taken to safely manage retained personal data

4.1. Creation of basic policy

In order to ensure the proper handling of personal data, we have established basic policies regarding “compliance with relevant laws and guidelines” and “point of contact for handling inquiries and complaints”.

4.2. Establishment of regulations regarding the handling of personal data

We establish rules for handling personal data regarding handling methods, persons in charge and their duties, etc. for each stage of acquisition, use, storage, provision, deletion/disposal, etc.

4.3. Organizational security management measures

  • For notification and billing of calculation information for grid-connected electricity receiving service charges (charging on the power generation side)

(*4) Our company will only share customers’ personal information with businesses within the range necessary for the purpose of joint use, and not necessarily all retail electricity businesses and general power transmission and distribution businesses. Customers’ personal information will not be shared with demand curtailment contractors and power distribution companies.

(*5) Retail electricity provider refers to a retail electricity business operator that does not fall under the grounds for refusal of registration stipulated in Article 2-5, Paragraph 1 of the Electricity Business Act (Act No. 170 of July 11, 1960). A business that has been registered as a business by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (deemed to have been registered as a retail electricity business according to the supplementary provisions of the Act for Partial Amendment of the Electricity Business Act, etc. (Act No. 72 of 2014)) (including business operators). (*8) A demand curtailment contract holder is an operator that has concluded a demand curtailment amount adjustment supply contract with a member who is a general power transmission/distribution company or a power distribution company (a company that has obtained a company code before concluding the contract). (*9) A power generation contractor is a person who has concluded a power generation adjustment supply contract with a general power transmission and distribution company.

(*10) Retail supply, etc. contract abolition agency means that a business that has received a new application for a retail supply, etc. contract from a customer, acts on the customer’s behalf to request an existing business to terminate the retail supply, etc. This refers to applying for cancellation of a supply contract.
